At Petit Collage, we design our products to be long lasting and high quality. We want children to enjoy years of play before passing their toys and games on to be loved by someone else.

We are deeply committed to communicating our eco claims clearly and without greenwashing. We recognize that sustainability is an ever-moving target and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the standards we apply to all our products and processes.

We know that everything we do has a carbon footprint, which is why we need to ensure that our products are as environmentally friendly as they can be. This will be achieved by eradicating virgin plastic, educating ourselves in green and sustainable materials—because not all natural materials are good and not all plastic is bad—and working with suppliers that share our values and demonstrate practices in line with preserving the planet.

What makes our products eco-friendly?

  • No single-use plastic used in new product development and transit.
  • All paper and wood is FSC, and inks are vegetable-based.
  • Packaging uses up to 70% recycled materials and is curbside recyclable.
  • We use recycled materials for many of our wooden toys, and all game and puzzle zip pouches.

By sourcing responsibly, reducing waste, and working collaboratively with our partners, we are working every day towards our goal of leaving a better world for future generations without restricting childhood fun.

Eco-friendly Product Development

We review every Petit Collage product to make them more sustainable and reduce their negative impact on our planet. We have removed single-use and disposable plastic from our product packaging and, perhaps more importantly, our transit packaging. Ultimately, we will remove these plastics entirely from our backlist either by reworking designs and changing materials or retiring products where more sustainable solutions cannot be found.

At all stages of new product design and development we actively focus on creating something beautiful that our customers want to keep and treasure. We work with a small select group of suppliers to choose the correct materials for longevity and functionality, whilst ensuring that production materials and processes are as kind to the environment as possible. We use FSC certified wood and paper, recycled PET, GOTS certified organic cotton, and vegetable inks and water-based paints throughout our range, with a focus on packaging that is made from recycled materials and is curbside recyclable.

We’ve also adopted a much more conscious approach towards transit. We use recyclable materials to protect products and have made it a priority to reduce overall packaging size and material use, thus improving shipping efficiency, and we continue to look for more ways to reduce our transit footprint.

Our Factories

We care how and where our products are made and have formed strong relationships with our manufacturers. They are acutely aware of our changing world and are working well with us to reduce pre- and post-production waste, create more environmentally conscious goods, provide increasingly sustainable options for our packaging, and our suppliers all hold valid and in-date full ethical audit reports.
